YEAR 2
This week has been packed with learning, especially due to the longer days on Monday and Wednesday! 
After a superb, sponsored walk experience last week, where we walked about 4/5 km, it was time to get back into the classroom. 
In English, some of us have been learning about contractions. How the expanded form becomes contracted to quicken speech and writing processes. For example, 'I would' becomes 'I'd'. We, of course, needed to know how apostrophes work - they may be difficult to name but they're a lot easier to place! 
In Maths, we looked at measurement units such as millilitres and litres for capacity and grams and kilogrammes for mass/weight. This involved me demonstrating the capacity of 19 litre bottles of water, which weren't light! We also know that a pen is about a gram in weight, but a kangaroo is 100kg. Did you know a tiger is over 300 kgs in weight? 
In PSHE, we looked at being brave when it came to asking for help. In fact, we also looked at being brave in general; we understand that being scared is needed for being brave. 
Finally, in Art we drew a close-up of a beautiful rose as it fit nicely with our Science theme - 'Growing Plants'.
