In the film version Maniac assumes that the girl does not have the money. This is a small change, of course.
It should be mentioned that it was also in the comics version that the name of the hero was changed from Martin Jordan, which was the name in the original version, to the more familiar name of Martin Luther.
The movie version used a sound stage rather than the original location. The principal, Michael Moran, who was still playing Maniac, appears with his wife in one scene, which is not in the book. The villain at first seems to have the upper hand in the fight with the hero. He is able to pick up the phone and place a call. In the original, however, the hero was able to put out his own phone and get the police called.

The effect of a single i.p. injection of cyclophosphamide (CY) (100 mg/kg) was investigated in MRL-Fas lpr and control (B6 x MRL)F1 mice, in order to assess the in vivo ability of this drug to modify the lupus-prone phenotype. In addition, chronic administration of this drug was evaluated by its effect on the survival of male and female MRL-Fas lpr and control mice. After a single injection of CY, a temporary decrease in serum IgG, IgM and IgA levels, of both pro- and anti-inflammatory character, was observed in control mice, while a significant decrease in anti-inflammatory serum antibodies was detected in MRL-Fas lpr mice. No reduction in MHC class II positive cells was detected in the spleen, while a significant decrease in MHC class II positive cells was detected in the kidneys of lupus-prone mice. On the contrary, chronic administration of CY for a period of two months induced a significant increase in both survival and mean survival age in MRL-Fas lpr mice.
