As for the licence, we agree that some of our content is copyrighted, so we don't use that. We also don't add advertisements, even though the sourcecode can't be checked, because they are a nuisance. On the other hand, we don't like creating legal problems, so we prefer to remove all content which we consider questionable (like the banner-ads, which don't fit the spirit of the site, or the video's which are often illegal, but didn't cause any real problems for us). I also removed about a dozen porn-links. We don't like having things like that either. We prefer to prevent those links instead of solving them, and believe that doing so is the right thing to do in this case.
I personally think that the klub 17 v7.4.rar is less of a problem than a lot of the stuff that is being removed, since its usefulness is greatly limited, and the content (while still amazing) is much lower in quality than what we've worked so hard on. We've also tried to make the site as fast as possible, but the source-code isn't entirely clean (e.g. there are things like 6-character strings in css that are frequently changed)
All in all, while we understand that in a few cases we may cause some problems, I hope you will agree that it's much easier to remove those than to create a clean and legal version. Please let me know if there is anything else you would like us to address.
I think this is a fair point, and I think the site as it currently stands is much more appealing to users than the various major hosts, who also use takedown requests to remove far more.
If it bothers you, you might want to suggest that the site hosting the content become much more popular, which might mean that users would become more willing to host files on their own. Not sure how feasible that is.
I think it's already much more popular than that, since the site has been around for a while and there are links to it all over the Internet.
I really don't want to worry about the fact that they have been online for over a year. Just to have a few extra files removed is not that much of a problem. If I get more requests, we will have to see what we can do.
