How to disable user from changing text in a textbox
What is the best way to prevent a user from changing the text in a text box? I have done some research and found the setReadOnly method to disable user from editing the text. I am not trying to prevent the user from editing the text. I want the user to be able to input a value in the textbox, but cannot click the Edit button.

You could prevent the user from clicking, but you can't prevent them from selecting the text.
However, this isn't the cleanest or simplest solution for your problem. 
Instead, you could write your own implementation of the Textbox, and then the user could have a button that let's them submit the data they have just entered, but doesn't let them change it. 
You would need to write the controls manually, and you would need to know how the textbox edits it's data. When the user clicks in the textbox, you would need to make sure the value actually changes, and then submit the changed value to your custom textbox class.
