1. RELEASE NOTES
This is the first public release for Mafia II. This release contains
a release notes file in the $GAME_PATH/shared/release_notes/ folder.
This file contains additional information that is relevant to the
installation and operation of Mafia II. Please be aware that some of
these release notes may be amended or removed in future releases.
2. UPDATING
Note: Please make sure you have installed a valid copy of Mafia II
before updating. You will not be able to play the game if you are
currently playing Mafia II.
- Upgrading from an earlier version of Mafia II will cause you to lose
all save data on your previous install.
- When upgrading you will receive an upgrade notice in the notification
system. This should tell you which files to delete, if any.
- Please note that upgrading does not replace the game files. Your
old versions will be available in your $GAME_PATH/shared/steamapps/savegame
and $GAME_PATH/shared/steamapps/common/savegames folders.
- Saving your game state during the upgrade should not cause any problems.
3. GLOBAL COMMUNITY
Note: Please remember that the Mafia II community is open to any
elements of the gaming community including users, developers,
modders and interested publishers. Please keep the comments
and concerns of other users to a minimum. If you have a comment
or concern then please first check the following list of FAQs
before making your comment.
- It is recommended that you sign up to the Mafia II Mailing
List, which can be found on the 'News and Contacts' page of
the main website. This provides an excellent
means of being kept up to date with all relevant community
information, including any announcements regarding the
development of Mafia II.
- There is a very active Mafia II Modding forum on the
Mafia II forums. Please take time to visit and contribute
to the various areas of the forum. It is an invaluable
