In the current implementation, Windows XP SP1 Home Startup Disk will scan your disk CD or DVD; compare its content to the original release disc and extract necessary files such as boot files. Finally it will save these files to the ‘System32’ directory of your computer.
When the installation starts, the software will prompt you to insert the startup disk.
If all boot files from the newly created disk are found on the original disc, the installation of your new Windows XP SP1 can be completed as you'd expect.
