Originally a Journal Storage database, JSTOR now includes books and images. 
JSTOR started in Princetown University in 1995 where the digitalizaton of 10 journals shared amongst seven university libraries was cost effective and enhanced research
There are over full text 2600 journals and 100,000 ebooks 
Journal articles on average 3 - 5 years from the current issue.
