Last term EIS had both a Christmas Bazaar and a Christmas concert. Primary and secondary where participating in door decoration competitions, a basket raffle - each year group is given a color and all the students in that class have to give in anything as long as it was in the color that was given, once they collected enough, we gathered them up and organized them in a basket! Year 9 got gold, year 6 got orange and early years got yellow. Imagine baskets filled with snacks, books, toys, crafts, and of course it’s all the same color!  At the end of our exciting day, once we rounded up all of the baskets from each year group all the parents and students gathered outside in the school courtyard and awaited the fate of their raffle tickets. Of course don’t forget all the games and entertaining rooms our Secondary students arranged by themselves, the whole school bought tokens in order to partake in all the interesting activities! There were photo booths, Christmas musical chairs, knock the Santa and many different stalls with jewelry, books, school made ginger cookies and sweet chocolate cornflake cookies. Once the day was done and everything in the bazar was sold out mostly everyone was happy and the school gained a lot. 
Interviewing Head of Primary Mr Marsh, we ask him a couple questions for both the Christmas events and what the schools gains will be used for.
 
Question 1. Since you helped organize the EIS Christmas concert, how well do you think it went?  
  
Well, I only had a small part in helping to organise the Christmas Concert this year. As it always is within EIS, it is always a team effort. The Music department did an outstanding job in getting the kids prepared for a great show. Over the past few years, between covid and other events it has been difficult to put on a traditional Christmas Concert with parents and families around, we were very fortunate that we were able to have the families there and that led to an incredible show and a wonderful day. It was a lot of work from the students and staff, but it went extremely well. 
 
Question 2. Which 3 raffle baskets would you rate to be the most attention grabbing? 
 
This is a hard question to answer, partly because they were all great but mostly because it is hard to remember all of them. For the three that I would rate to be the most attention grabbing I would have to say the red basket, blue basket and of course the white one (which most people wanted to win). 
 
Question 3. What fund was raised during the Christmas Bazaar? What is the school planning to do with that fund? 
 
The Christmas Bazaar was a wonderful day, I always love these special days that we hold at our school. It was great to see how much time and effort that the students, parents and vendors put into ensuring that our school events are such a success. We were able to raise some funds. Part of the funds is going to fund the Duke of Edinburgh International Award. We are very proud to be the only school in Russia the offers this award and we are fortunate enough that we are able to put some of that fund towards the investment of tents, cooking systems among other things, so that we can continue to provide, not only the best education, but exceptional extracurricular programs such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
