Update 4:43 p.m. EDT April 16: Brandon Scott Hole, 19, identified as the shooter at the FedEx facility in Indianapolis, formerly worked at the facility, according to a Friday afternoon briefing from Indianapolis Metro Police Department Deputy Chief Craig McCartt. He was last employed there in 2020.
 
An IMPD report from March 3, 2020, references a mental health check for suicidal tendencies at an Indianapolis residence, and lists Hole, then 18, as being arrested, the Indianapolis Star reported. According to the report, police seized a shotgun “from (a) dangerous person.” 
 
McCartt said he could not say what led up to the shootings. Police are still working on notifying families of the victims and are working with the coroner's office, he said.
