Warhammer: Vermintide Review
Now this game is in my top 3 games of the year. It combines the mechanics of the best of the Left 4 Dead and the Dying Light series with the sandbox and rogue like aspects of the Metro series. There are two modes, story and survival mode. Abandoned settlements are prime targets for the Bandits that occupy them.
The characters are different from the ones in the original, this time they're zombies. You are a demon hunter. The best thing about the missions is the sheer amount of variety. There are 3 difficulty levels and 12 different maps. The levels are also where the game really shines. You don't just have to run to the exit, you need to take out the enemies. You will need to be stealthy, you will need to find cover and you will need to think of the best way to take out your foes.
They have a more detailed story, not only do you need to rescue survivors you will have to take down the bandit's head man. The thing about this is you need to be careful, if the player dies or if they get caught in the crossfire the mission fails. You need to be careful not to trigger this since it affects how you can play the game.
I'd say the story mode isn't really worth mentioning, it's not going to be anything special. What really stands out about this game is its survival mode. The premise of the game is to stay in the city as long as possible. The main characters can carry a heavy load so you have to watch out for that. Sometimes the enemy will attack from multiple directions so you need to take out all the enemies before they attack.
