SeaTTY is an program that sets up an exclusive connection to
one (or several) NOAA Weather Radio stations (analog or
digital). During this connection the program receives the
complete text information (location, time, weather type,
and other items) about the storm.
SeaTTY has the ability to store and automatically retrieve
this information on your computer as well as the ability to
transmit it via your computer into an internal clock/timer.
In addition SeaTTY is capable of receiving navigational
warnings on VHF radio frequencies and Digital Radio
Broadcasting frequencies (DARC). The version for Windows 95,
98, and NT will also have the option of automatically
receiving the GPS/NAVTEX weather report for the last ten
days in a Windows 2000 database.
A "feature" of the program is its ability to use your own
sound card as a modem to reach the NOAA weather radio.
This feature is independent of whether your Internet
connection is dial-up or broadband. This is both a plus
and minus feature. If you have broadband, you can use
SeaTTY for Internet surfing, weather watching and
navigation. However, if you're a broadband user and not
a dialup user, then you will not be able to receive
the radio broadcast weather information over your
broadband.

SeaTTY is the best way for anyone to receive free NOAA Weather
Radio information on the Internet.
With your sound card set up properly, even on a laptop, you
can receive NOAA Weather Radio broadcasts in real time from any
of the NOAA Weather Radio stations. This means no fax, no phone,
no keypad, and no scan mode. Without a sound card the RTTY/TTY
band digital data of the radio station information is not
received. This software uses only your sound card to transmit
the digital data to a database on your computer.
SeaTTY will automatically find your NOAA Weather Radio station
and process the data that it receives. The database system will
not only store the weather information in a central location,
it will also store digital headers, a screen image, and audio
information for each NOAA Weather Radio signal received. This
then makes it easy for you to program your alarm clock, or
automatically schedule the "day view" feature.
