Dear Parents,
We were very pleased to welcome back Year 2 after their week in isolation. Thankfully, this week proceeded without any interruptions. Please take note of the following announcements:

Winter Concert Video:

Earlier this week, Katya Parfenenko, our Admissions Manager, sent you the Winter Concert link (see below). You will thoroughly enjoy watching our classes on board eight different coaches: South Africa (Nusery), Wales (Reception), Russian (Year 1), Italian (Year 2), Chinese (Year 3), Korea (Year 4), Sweden (Year 6) and France (Year 6). I am sure you will agree that beautiful backdrops, costumes, props and, especially, hearty singing of Christmas songs made each performance truly memorable!

Valentine’s Day – Monday, 14th February:

Every year, at EIS West, we celebrate Valentine’s Day and emphasise that it is a time to celebrate love and friendship, and the joy of having other people in our lives.
Ms Kate (Year 3 TA) and Ms Ksenia (Year 5 TA) have organised a range of activities to celebrate Valentine’s Day. To make the day even more special, pupils are invited to come to school, wearing something red, pink or violet. Please encourage your child/children to start preparing Valentine’s Day cards at home during the weekend. They will be able to send these cards other pupils or their teachers using our Special Valentine's Day Mail Service.

Skiing Afternoon/Lunchtime Club Activities:

The second of ski/snowboard training session took place yesterday. Year 2 to 6 pupils thoroughly enjoyed their time with their instructors at the Lata Track. Photographs of pupils skiing and snowboarding are included in this newsletter.

Half-term Assessments:

As we approach the end of this half-term, in addition to ongoing formative assessment, pupils will also write Bug Club Reading Tests, and Abacus Arithmetic and Problem-solving Tests.

Calendar Adjustment:

Please be reminded that Monday, 21st and Tuesday, 22nd February are normal school days. School will close at the usual time on 22nd February and club activities will take place.

Second Half-term:

School will reopen for second half-term on Monday, 28th February.
