Refurbishment and Maintenance Plan Summer 2020
One of the positives to come out of the period of premises closure was that it gave our maintenance team the opportunity to organise upgrades to the school facilities, such as the resurfacing of the lower sports/play area, that would have had to wait until the summer in any normal year. In addition, they have painted the classrooms  (18a/b/c) next to the nurses office and also those on the secondary corridor (11,12,13) with several others in the pipeline (28, 15, and 5a/b/c). 
However, this is just the start of an extensive programme of facilities improvement taking place this year. Once again, the School Board are investing heavily in upgrading and improving the facilities of the school during the summer break. 
As always, the health and safety of our community and the security of the school site form the starting point for any maintenance and refurbishment plan.  We will be installing thermal imaging scanners at both entrances of the school over the next few weeks to automatically carry out temperature checks on students, staff and parents as they enter the school.  We will also be repairing the external fence and wall on Kukkuk street and further improving the perimeter fencing  around the school site. There will be improvements and renovations made to our emergency doors and security systems
Internally, the main areas of focus this year are the replacement of the lights around the school with a new Eco friendly LED system, the refurbishment of the Science area, including the creation of a second specialist lab, refreshing our language and EAL rooms (5a/b/c) with new windows, flooring and painting plus a complete renovation of the sports changing rooms.  
There will also be significant work completed on the Kakkuk street facade, the secondary toilets will be completely refurbished, the gym corridor painted and new flooring installed in the Garden corridor classrooms.

I would like to thank my dedicated and hard working Premises Manager Balint Rokas and his wonderful team (Csaba, Attila and David) for their exceptional work during this school year. The logistics,organisation and completion of such a large number of jobs  is a fantastic achievement.  If you see them in school either over the next two weeks or on our return on August 27th, I would encourage you to give these 'unsung heroes' some well deserved praise.
