Welcome to the EIS Newsletter - 2024/25 - Issue No. 9!

A quiet week for the most part but not in the classrooms, it has been business as usual! With exams and parent-teacher meetings coming up, students have been putting the pedal to the metal, as they say. I know Mr. Mathioudakis, our new Assessment Lead and Maths teacher in Secondary, has been reinforcing the tracking systems and data collection of the school in preparation. We are in a good position so we are confident moving forward.

Outside of that, teachers have been working hard on display boards, inside and out of the classrooms; in places like corridors for instance. It is important for us as a school that informs others and celebrates achievements equally and, therefore, the display boards play a profound role in that endeavour. Speaking about celebrating achievements, a big well done to Anna in Y2 for receiving a Headteacher Award this week. She is the only student as it happens. Anna has gone above and beyond the call of duty and completed far more homework than expected, and also at a high standard. Well done, young lady!

I would also like to thank our DofE cohort this week as well, as several have turned their attention to working on the school library. Interestingly, they decided to colour coordinate the books to make it easy to identify and replace items when needed. I have attached a photo below as I think it looks striking but should prove very beneficial as well. A special thanks will go to Lily and Amaliya in Y11 in that area, and also for some good support work by Maria Y9.

Finally, I was able to hand out certificates for the Halloween door competition and I noticed they are proudly displayed in the relevant classrooms now as well. This also coincides with our first real snowman building of the year by our students during outdoor breaks. Although we only got a day or two out of that, I am sure circumstances will change soon enough!
