Yeeeaaahhhh! We got scammed on the cover of this month’s STOCKWINNERS Magazine. Shocker, right?
The part that makes this issue worth a half credit is that we get to say, “This month, we’re…scammed.” It’s not that we don’t appreciate getting a free issue of STOCKWINNERS Magazine and knowing that we’re getting to say, “We got scammed on the cover of this month’s STOCKWINNERS Magazine. Shocker, right?”
It’s more that we want to get a good cover story, one that we feel will have readers laughing in their car as they read it. And this month, we got, “The Guy Who Almost Got Scammed.”
We didn’t know it at the time, but we were about to make a fool out of someone who was looking for a trade for some stocks he owned.
What happened was we got contacted by a guy who is also in the magazine and we referred him to the magazine’s editors.
The magazine covers a wide variety of financial topics, and we wanted to know more about the person who had a certain stock that he was looking to unload.
We were surprised at how easy it was to get this interview, as he was a close friend of one of the editors. The editor said the guy couldn’t be bothered with niceties and would give us an in-depth interview, which is what we got.
So I just went in and asked some questions about the stock and what he thought about it. I told him I just wanted to know if there were any, “irregularities” going on with his stock. I told him I was a journalist and didn’t have any agenda other than to get an honest answer.
