How can I convert a list to a dict in Python, within a loop?
I have the following code:
for ids in dicts:
    uc_ids = list(str(ids[0]))
    temp_type = ids[1]
    if temp_type == "UC_LOG_ID":
        list_of_ids = list(dict(zip(uc_ids, ids[2:])))
    else:
        list_of_ids = list(dict(zip(uc_ids, ids[2:])))
I want to convert the ids list inside the dictionary into a dict rather than a list, but I'm getting an error with the zip function:
TypeError: zip argument #1 must support iteration
How can I convert the ids into a dict in the loop?

zip() is a built-in function which must be applied to an iterable (if you wanted to use it to zip together three iterables, for example, that's fine).
You'll want to use the dict() constructor instead, which takes any iterable as its argument:
dict(zip(uc_ids, ids[2:]))
The reason the error is occurring is that zip() is of course iterating over all the ids, hence the TypeError: zip() argument #1 must support iteration. To fix this, you can use the keyword argument iterable
