A common scenario involves presenting content to an end-user over a network such as the Internet or over-the-air broadcast. Content is generally viewed on a display or screen. A display can be configured as an integral part of a computer or a computer component such as a computer monitor, a television, etc. In other scenarios, a display may be separated from a computer or computer component and it is connected via a network connection such as a cable, an optic fiber, an antenna, a coaxial cable, a wireless signal, etc.Covered by the Order of Canada, the striking rhythm section of the renowned jazz violinist, Ian Parry, has inspired listeners around the world for over 25 years. After recording the guitar of the founder of New Orleans’ Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Brother Jack McDuff, in New Orleans in the 1970s, the band has attracted a new generation of followers since the release of their first CD, “Plucky.” Following the release of that album, Parry and the band were awarded their Order of Canada for their artistic and musical achievements. Now a multi-instrumentalist, Parry’s latest CD, “Double Trouble,” shows the wide-ranging scope of his talent.
Back in the 80s, Ian Parry & The Vibratos first received recognition in Canada after his performance on CBC TV’s legendary “In Concert.” They were invited to perform at the Vancouver Winter Olympics, and even won a Juno Award for “Best Jazz Vocal Performance” (for “Wake Me In Harlem”). Since then, Parry’s unique brand of music has brought him many Canadian honors, and audiences around the world, with performances in the United States, Europe, South America, the Caribbean, Australia, New Zealand, and even Indonesia. He was also a member of Art Garfunkel’s “Lighting Up The Sky” project.
Strolling the streets of New Orleans on a warm summer night during one of his trips to the Crescent City, Parry came upon an aged and decrepit neighborhood piano in the middle of the block. That piano had been abandoned for many years. Parry’s awareness of New Orleans’ music scene was raised and, after making a short documentary film about the “piano man,” he decided to purchase the instrument and take it back to New Orleans, to become the nucleus of a new 3125841983
