Qcal is an Excel workbook with a user interface.
It contains a list of functions used to calculate field–specific doses and their errors, and includes a logistic regression–based function to calculate values for field–specific lethal / knockdown doses and times.
Qcal was written in Python, and is released under a Creative Commons license and includes a help file and summary of input parameter requirements.
Malaria is a major health problem in India. In India, anaemic patients constitute more than 90% of outpatients. But, despite chloroquine treatment, 20 to 30% of these patients develop chloroquine resistant malarial parasite. An ideal drug will have both anti–malarial and anti–malarial resistance properties. Currently only a few drugs are available, which have both these properties. To meet this requirement phytochemical fractionation was carried out on the methanol extract of Datura metel. Nine fractions were obtained, each was tested for in vitro anti–malarial activity using standard drug chloroquine against D10 strain of malaria parasite. The methanol extract was found to contain high amount of alkaloids, saponins, tannins, phenolics. Chloroquine was used as positive control. Among all the fractions; fraction A, B, and C were found to have potent anti–malarial activity with IC50 value ranging from 0.00075 to 0.0052, while IC50 values for chloroquine in all the fractions were found to be 0.00541-0.0080. Among all the fractions only Fraction A and B were found to have anti–malarial activity comparable with Chloroquine. These fractions were further purified and anti–malarial activity of both hydro–soluble and hydro–insoluble fractions were evaluated in the in vitro D10 strain of malaria parasite. From both hydro–soluble and hydro–insoluble fractions, fractions A and B were found to be potent inhibitor of in vitro growth of malaria parasites. Fraction A was found to have potent anti–malarial activity against chloroquine resistant malaria strains Dd2 and D10. Based on these studies fraction A was chosen as the active fraction for the preclinical studies.How to use the new gps unit

QCal Activation Code is a program developed to work with insecticide bioassays, which is used for the development of insecticide resistance status, potential to replace insecticides and insecticide DDT/TDD resistance monitoring.
The program calculates the Lethal Dose / Knockdown Dose (LD/KD), or Lethal Time / Knockdown Time (LT/KT) for insecticides.
The program calculates the lethal dose or knockdown time based on the time response data of the bioassay.
The program uses a logistic regression model that takes into account the time points when knockdown occurs in the mosquito larva (LT) and takes into account the time when mortality occurs.
The program performs the model calculation using the R statistical software environment and provides results in a graphical form.
The program is written with R and for Windows operating systems.
The application is used for calculating logistic models such as log–dose, log–time, log–time with fixed log dose and log–time with fixed log dose followed by curve estimation by quadratic regression.
The program can be used for bioassays that are recorded using the CDC bottle method, the WHO tube method and other methods.
The program also calculates time and dose response curves for each insecticide tested against the species.
The program includes the following features:
– Use the user data table (Qcal input) –
for each insecticide used in the bioassay, along with all explanatory variables (age and dose) calculated by the program user.
– Curves for Lethal Time / Knockdown Time (LT/KT) and Lethal Dose / Knockdown Dose (LD/KD) or mortality in relation to time –
has a graphic presentation of values for LT/KT and LD/KD at each time.
– Example analysis –
the program contains a typical case study on the analysis of an insecticide bioassay data.

exit the program user using the “EXIT” button.
