95,370 locations from 48 different countries. It contains name, area, population,
population_density, latitude, longitude, and other metadata such as region_code,
subregion_code, UFI, UNI, full name, short name, human_made, human_made_full_name,
feature_ID, feature_type, feature_type_full_name, and feature_class. Data is provided
as a tab-delimited plain text file; therefore, it can be used directly in your

World Cities Database includes 48 countries and 95,370 locations.
These 95,370 records contain around 25,000 different populated places, addresses,
cities and villages. This number is independent of the information content because
some regions have no population. The database contains locations with up to 22
different region_code values.
This database contains all global cities that can be expressed in full name,
short name, and alias (local, state, county, area, district, island, settlement,
etc.). The collected data is maintained in the complete accuracy of the site
sourced, which is the most reliable and complete source of data available.
