That's a Maybe....
I wanted to thank each of you for your cards/PMs for my daughter, and for the wonderful comments. When I returned home this evening from a quick trip, I discovered a package waiting for me when I got home. It was from my sister-in-law, and it holds a possible solution (at least for now) to a homework problem my daughter has been having.
Since we've had to make a few changes to the present schedule for my daughter, we've been having problems with organization. She's been getting ready for school, and school activities, all at the same time. But the school schedule is still mostly set up for students who go to school only 6 days a week, and for students who stay home 2 or 3 days a week. She's been doing fine with this.
But when she's supposed to go to Pre-School, and the Summer School, and then get ready for second grade, it's a little hard for her to keep up with everything. So she's been having trouble keeping up with the homework assignments that teachers send home.
She's learned a little about planning things out, but not yet in the sense that we'll be doing art projects/science experiments, etc., on a regular basis (if we can't, then maybe we'll just work on math and reading). But until she can keep up with just one or two things at a time, she's been having a hard time with the homework assignments, and keeping on top of the work she does.
Well, my sister-in-law sent me a book for my daughter. It's titled, "You Are Everything--Prepare for Life's Journey". It's written by Francine Chan, Ph.D., and it's really interesting. It tells about a child who is also having problems learning, and struggling with the challenge of managing all the elements of his busy life.
