Christmas Events
In the final week of term, we will be trying our hardest to put a smile on the faces of all of our children and community after a difficult, stressful and strange year. Walking around the Primary corridors this week, I am confident  and so happy that we succeeded in our mission! 
The following events took place:
Christmas Key Stage movies – from The Snowman to Home Alone to Elf, our children enjoyed relaxing with friends for a movie after such a long and busy term.
Christmas post-box deliveries – Student Council have been delivering smiles and Christmas cards across Primary!
Door decorating – the job was so difficult and the teachers could not decide, so we enlisted the help of Student council again! They chose 5 Thames as the best door decorating with their intricate gingerbread and starry night scene.
KS1 12 Days on the Garden Corridor – parents and KS2 alike loved watching our smallest children singing and performing via Zoom. While nothing can beat being on site, this was close and there were a few hearts swollen with pride and a few eyes glistening with tears after watching our wonderful children!
Christmas craft – everyone enjoyed participating in Christmas craft this week – we hope you love them too!
Games and activities – what a truly heart-warming, hilarious and happy end to the term. Shrieks of laughter and Christmas cheer filled our key stage areas for  our end of year games and activities.
Class parties – Our children were still able to have a Christmas party, and parents joined virtually to join in the fun.
Big Christmas Sing – We have missed seeing our Secondary friends very much, but we cannot due to COVID restrictions. Usually, we come together as a whole community at Christmas time so this year we had to get creative! Today, we had ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ over the tannoy, while the whole of KS1, KS2 and KS3 stood in the corridors of their prospective areas of the school joining together for a Big Christmas Sing. We could hear each other and be connected, but we were still socially distanced. It certainly raised smiles and helped us to feel connected.
