I am newbie to Ubuntu. I am working on an Ubuntu system. I have installed xubuntu-desktop to get familiar with it. 
I want to play a game called Stardew Valley, which comes with a booting loader of windows 7. 
I want to eliminate this booting loader and replace it with Ubuntu bootloader.
This is the procedure I followed to replace the booting loader of a computer with Ubuntu. 
Downloaded the ISO of Ubuntu
Created a bootable USB using Unetbootin
Started the Ubuntu live session from USB
Procedure breaks up as follows.
For step 1 : 
When I started my ubuntu, I was able to select the hard disk on which to install ubuntu. So, I selected the hard disk which came pre-installed with windows 7. 
For step 2: 
I selected boot from USB. 
In step 3, I thought I could change the booting loader, but I was not able to do so. 
So, I went back to my laptop, and found out that the booting loader was still the Windows 7. 
I know I am not able to do this. But, if I can find out how to achieve it, would be appreciated.
If you have any suggestions, please suggest.

You need to re-install the operating system that came on your computer and then delete the Windows 7 partition and replace it with an Ubuntu partition.
You can't change the bootloader on a computer that is booted in any other operating system.
Also, you can't install Ubuntu on a computer that has a valid copy of Windows 7 installed, and you can't boot from the Ubuntu live DVD to install Ubuntu on it.
If you want to move away from Windows 7, then you can find suggestions for methods of re-partitioning here. The decision to do this is yours and you need to weigh up the relative advantages and disadvantages of each method.
