Grade levels: Kindergarten-2nd Grade

Standards are from the USA Common Core, C3 Framework, and ISTE:
C3 Framework for Social Studies: D2.His.14.K-2. Generate possible reasons for an event or development in the past.
Writing: Kindergarten-CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.K.3 Use a combination of drawing, dictating, and writing to narrate a single event or several loosely linked events, tell about the events in the order in which they occurred, and provide a reaction to what happened.
1st Grade- CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.1.3 Write narratives in which they recount two or more appropriately sequenced events, include some details regarding what happened, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide some sense of closure. 
2nd Grade-CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.2.3 Write narratives in which they recount a well-elaborated event or short sequence of events, include details to describe actions, thoughts, and feelings, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide a sense of closure.
MATH: 1st Grade- CCSS.Math-1.MD.4 Organize, represent, and interpret data with up to three categories; ask and answer questions about the total number of data points, how many in each category, and how many more or less are in one category than in another.
2nd Grade- CCSS.Math-2.MD.10 10. Draw a picture graph and a bar graph (with single-unit scale) to represent a data set with up to four categories. Solve simple put-together, take-apart, and compare problems 4 using information presented in a bar graph.
ISTE Student Standard-1.6 Creative Communicator Students communicate clearly and express themselves creatively for a variety of purposes using the platforms, tools, styles, formats, and digital media appropriate to their goals.

Materials Required
These will depend on which activities you choose to do. You will want to have some sort of fake pancake and at least 2 small, lightweight pans (you can also make them *see activities below) for students to use. 
Some way to project the Google Slide Deck and Youtube Read Aloud of "Pancake, Pancake!" by Eric Carle"
A way to graph student responses for their favorite type of pancake or favorite pancake toppings
