Nested useRefs and useEffect
I have a useRef in a component. I am using it to track changes to the global ref. Then, I have a useEffect where I also use the useRef in my component. When I console log the global ref.current it doesn't update. But it does when I console log the component ref.current. I don't understand why the console log doesn't update when the useEffect is called. Is this due to useRefs and useEffect not working at the same time?

The state of useEffect will have been updated only if one of the dependencies to that effect has changed, so the effect will only run if the component is mounted.
