📣From the Vice Principal
Spring is about to spring! It has been a hard winter season so we are hoping for warmer temperatures and sunny skies! So much learning continues to happen at LVS and it is hard to believe that our 2nd term is almost over. February was a busy month at LVS with our “I Love to Read Month” activities, our Voyageur Week activities, the start of a middle years Beading club, a Ribbon Skirt club, an E-Sports and the continuation of our Dungeons and Dragons club. Our basketball and curling teams continue to play and improve while also having lots of fun. 
 
 Remember that our second student conferences of the year are being held next month on April 21 & 22. At this time we are unclear whether our conferences will be virtual or in-person. We await direction from Public Health. Once we know the format, we will inform all of our families.
 
Further to this, we are also waiting for direction from Public Health regarding what in-school mask use, social distancing and other protective health measures will look like as things evolve. As always, we will keep everyone up to date with changes as they happen.
 
Spring break is only a few weeks away. We encourage everyone to try and spend some time together outside, doing some baking or cooking, playing a game together, having a movie night, planning a walk, and doing “together “activities over the spring break. It’s those little moments that often make the biggest memories together! 
 
COVID has been hard on us all, but we hope that everyone takes this unusual time and finds those hidden gems in our lives and community. 
 
Staffing updates: We are welcoming back Mrs. Stephanie Leitchman who is returning to grade 2 from her maternity leave. We wish thank Ms. McLennan for her great work in grade 2 this year however she won’t be away for long as Ms. McLennan will be taking Ms. Wilson’s maternity leave in grade 1 at the beginning of April.
