Dear Parents,
We are nearing the end of Term 2 and have only one week to go before school closes for a one-week holiday.
Please note of the following announcements:

1. Parent-Teacher Conferences:

As indicated earlier, teachers will be scheduling parent-teacher conferences early next term to give you feedback on your child’s/children’s achievements and progress in Term 2, and to afford you the opportunity to ask questions.

2. End-of-term Puppet Show:

Pupils have been rehearsing every morning with Ms Jeanelle, Ms Anna and Ma Katya between 08:45 to 09:00 to prepare for the puppet show to be held on Friday, 15th April. It is very encouraging to note that many pupils have taken advantage of the opportunity to make their own puppets and to participate enthusiastically in this very worthwhile event. The benefits of puppeteering are wide-ranging and include:

Language development: pupils love to have 'conversations' with puppets.
Social development: pupils learn to interact with those around them.
Emotional Development: pupils learn to express their feelings and emotions.
Listening skills: pupils learn about turn-taking occurs in conversation, requiring one person to listen while the other person speaks.
Motor skills: puppeteering requires the movement of arms and fingers.
Building self-confidence: pupils learn to express themselves with confidence.
Creativity: creating a puppet requires artistic and create skills.
Story-telling: staging a puppet show involves developing characters and sequencing events.

3. Swimming –Term 3:

Pupils in Years 1 to 6 can look forward to participating in swimming lessons in Term 3. As soon as arrangements have been finalised, parents will be informed. If you have any queries about swimming, please email Mr Oleg at Oleg.Balashov@englishedmoscow.com

4. End-of-term Arrangements:

School will be closed for a one-week holiday from Monday, 18th to Friday, 22nd April. Please be reminded that school will close early on Friday, 15th April at 1:00 p.m.
Term 3 will start on Monday, 25th April.
