YEAR 1
This week, Year 1 reviewed the answers to their Science, English and Mathematics exams. Topics covered this week in Mathematics included: estimation and addition using double digit numbers. In science, we put animals into different categories based upon what they eat e.g. omnivore, carnivore or herbivore. In English, we read a story about the exploits and adventures of three skeletons living in a dark, dark house in a dark, dark street, in a dark, dark town, on a dark, dark hill. Last week I asked parents to carve pumpkins with their children and I am happy to post the results in this week's newsletter. It's not all hard work in Y1, and this week children had the opportunity to play a game of musical chairs (see the picture attached). Thursday was a dress- down day and both teacher's and children wore what they wanted (see the attached picture).
