After you install CaRMetal, you will need to assign a project for the application to function. In the main menu, click on the main tab to display the objects and library menu.
The first menu option is the AGE (paper) menu option. This is the simplest version of the graphics interface. Use it if you do not need to customize or edit your project.
In the AGE menu, you can create a paper model. See How to Build a Paper Model in CaRMetal for more information.
When you create a paper model, you will need to select a page size, page order and colors for the model.

The second menu is the PROJ (3D) menu. This is the most common method of creating projects. Use it if you need a template model or you want to create your own model.
For example, you can create a 3D model and use the GUI to create and position objects. Once your objects are designed, you can take the model into the 3D builder window. This is the interactive 3D programming portion of the application.
To create a project, you will need to select a page size, page order, number of models and colors. The order will determine where the objects are displayed in the three dimensional space.
For example, if you want to place objects on a one layer, you can choose four or more models and size it to A3. In this case, you will place the objects on the front face of the paper model in the proper location.
