Welcome to the EIS Newsletter, Issue No.17!

It has been an interesting and very eventful week; I have enjoyed it very much!

To begin with, a big thank you to all parents and students who donated to the Moscow Protestant Chapel clothes drive; without doubt, the largest quantity we have ever accumulated. I have added some photos which will provide a nice visual. Naturally, I was very proud of our efforts but, probably, none more so than our work to prepare for our delivery next week, because our Student Council organised and packed the clothing in large boxes. It took almost an entire day in groups to achieve the pile pf boxes. Guess what, we still have more clothes to be packed into boxes next week! Anyway, thank you Ms. Waldron and well done, Student Council!

Victor Y5 (the next Nicholai Tesla) brought in his plasma globe to Photography Club this week. Again, I have included some photographs. The students very much enjoyed accessing the plasma globe which still had a magical effect in a light environment. Pitch black darkness would have been optimal but it still did the job. A cool feature of this particular plasma globe is that it can be voice-activated, something I have none see before, so, thank you, Victor, I really enjoyed getting involved in this.

Something else I very much enjoyed was Year 3's assembly! We can never underestimate the importance of friends and enduring friendships in life, and this is what Y3 were informing us in the most entertaining way this week. I am sure the attending parents would agree, the performance was informative, well delivered, poignant and very entertaining! Having spoken with Ms. Holly afterwards, she made a concerted effort to share the roles as equally as possible to make sure every student had a chance to shine. I think this worked extremely well and the performances from each child were of a high standard. I also found it very funny at times! Well done, Ms. Holly and Ms. Aida, good job!

Thank you to all of your contributions for the parent survey and we are incredibly happy with the overwhelmingly positive feedback! No school is perfect, though, so we put into place plans and strategies to further grow certain areas. We are excited overall about what we can achieve going forward. I had the honour of being invited to meet the new British Ambassador this week in the official residence. I can tell you other schools are following our lead with regards to LRN but they are a year behind us.

We were first and we are the pioneers!
