The OIG has been called the “inspector general of the inspector general” and reports to the agency that is supposed to oversee it.
“I think there is a desire to be more open. The FBI, I think, has always been an open book. We want to make sure that we are transparent,” Wray told The Hill in an interview. “And so I think there is a real focus on being more open and transparent, and I think that’s a good thing for everyone, including the OIG.”

Wray told The Hill that he and the bureau are already working on how to be more transparent.
“We are not perfect, but I think we are in pretty good shape on that. And I think we’re going to continue to strive to be more open, transparent and communicate with the American people,” he said.
