Macon-Bibb Commission 7/9/202

Macon-Bibb County Commissioners got an update Tuesday on the progress of United to End Homelessness efforts to address issues related to the unhoused on the streets, those in shelters and others living in motels. Rev. Jake Hall said the goal is to make homelessness rare, brief and non-reoccurring. Commissioners also approved the budget for the Department of Economic and Community Development's more than $3.1 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. ECDD Manager Wanzina Jackson explained the funds assist local agencies in helping with housing, social services and economic development. Here are highlights from the meeting captured in social media posts.
