Autodesk was founded by John Warnock and Chuck Peddle in 1982. The company started out with one employee and worked to develop a line of affordable desktop software applications for the emerging personal computer market. In 2001, Autodesk introduced AutoCAD 2008, a more powerful version of AutoCAD. In 2010, Autodesk introduced AutoCAD 2010. Autodesk plans to release AutoCAD 2011 in late 2011 and 2012.

Sir John Arthur Sumner (2 March 1917 – 9 April 2006) was a New Zealand geologist and professor.
Early life and education
Born in Te Kuiti, Sumner was the son of Arthur Sumner and Edith Phipps. He was educated at St Peter's School, then Auckland Grammar School. He studied at Victoria University College, graduating BA in 1941 with first-class honours in geology. In 1948, he married Frances Shirley Gallagher, with whom he had two children.
Academic career
Sumner lectured in geology at Otago University from 1947 to 1956, and in 1958 moved to the University of Auckland, where he taught until his retirement in 1990. He was a fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand and the New Zealand Academy of Natural Sciences.
Later life and death
Sumner died in Auckland on 9 April 2006.
