MacNS is not a full blown DNS daemon. It's just a very simple network service that can be used to locate the IP address of a MAC address. MacNS is very fast and can run in minimal memory. MAC NameServer is an open source project. It is free to use, and no registration is necessary. No credit card information is stored.
This application uses the "SendARP" API that is available in Windows only. This API only changes the MAC address to an IP address in the local network. It does not work on Linux, Macintosh, iPhone or Google Phone. It is meant to be simple. It is not a full blown DNS server. MacNS can be used from a shared directory, so all computers can find their own IP addresses.
MacNS uses the network as an external hard drive, and will take up space in your computer's hard drive. This is necessary, since the network is kind of slow. MacNS is not a background process that is fast. This makes MacNS very slow when starting up.

What MacNS uses:
- Processor and network bandwidth, and will take up disk space on your computer.
- The SendARP command, to change MAC addresses and retrieve IP addresses.

What MacNS is not:
- A full blown DNS daemon. It does not update DNS automatically. It can be used as a directory that contains IP addresses.
- A DNS cache. You will not get an IP address for a new hostname even if your DNS server is configured to do DNS lookups.
- A serial port service
The MacNameServe.app and the MacNSData.app are the parts of MacNameServe.
MacNameServe is easy to use. MacNameServe can be run as an administrator, system or "Daemon" process.
The daemon/system process is the same as MacNameServe.app.

MacNS is a utility to assist in Mac OS X network discovery.
It will scan for a subset of your local subnet, and save the corresponding MAC addresses in a file for use later.
MacNS will not report back an IP address when it detects IP address changes, it will only report back the first discovered MAC address.
MacNS will use processor time and network bandwidth when run. It will take up space on your hard disk, even when it is not running.
MacNS will not work if it is not installed (you might need to download the files yourself if you are on another machine.)

Lipocortins are a family of molecules which share an ancestral molecular structure and share a functional role: inhibition of the biosynthesis and release of some mediators involved in inflammatory reactions. We have shown recently that a lipocortin-1 (Lc-1) is a potent anti-inflammatory agent in the skin. To further understand this new pharmacological profile, we have studied the immunological and pharmacological properties of Lc-1 in the baboon model, and the structural modeling of Lc-1 has been performed by threading the putative lipocortin sequence on the high resolution three-dimensional structure of the human 11-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 2. Interestingly, macaque and human sequence differences were conserved in the putative lipocortin-1 structure. Our results show that Lc-1 immunodetection in the skin is comparable with inflammatory skin diseases. The characteristics of the human sequence in the context of the three-dimensional structure and our data suggest that Lc-1 is a potent anti-inflammatory agent.What is D
