Update: GMS 1.6.2 (which is what your question is actually about) is free now.
From their website:
Today, GameMaker Studio is officially free to all users. All features are available in the standard version.
This is why you are not getting a discount when you download from other sites (your old version was the premium version, the one that was offered as a free download for a limited time).
This is also why there are no discounts with the Humble Bundle or similar.

Connect to Sql Server 2000 from Mono in Linux
I am doing a project in C# and as I need to connect to a MSSQL Server 2000 (the main server which hold all the project data) I use Mono (Ubuntu) for the development.
I tried both Oracle and Microsoft drivers but both of them always throw exception:
Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleException (0x80004005): could not load Oracle Shared Packages
System.Data.OracleClient.OracleException (0x80004005): No Oracle client libraries were found.
and Microsoft.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: An OLE DB error has occurred.
I've also set all the required DLLs to the /usr/lib/mono/2.10 directory and even manually set the ORACLE_HOME variable but it still did not work.
I've also read about 10 different blogs of people with the same problem but no solution was found.

Took me a while to figure this out.  What I did was:
Install the latest version of Oracle Client
Ubuntu 12.04: Install libaio1 libaio1-dev libaio1-dbg libaio-dev libaio1-doc
Debian 6.0: Install libaio1 libaio1-dev libaio1-doc
Arch Linux: Install libaio1 libaio1-dbg libaio1-dev libaio1-doc
Download and install MS Drivers for ODBC
Ubuntu 12.04: Install mono-complete-dbg1
