All four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) are fully covered in a skills-based communicative approach. The course caters for students with little formal experience of English and who want to develop practical language skills and to build their confidence. The layout of the book is clear and accessible, with boxed features highlighting key points of grammar, vocabulary or suggestions for taking things further. A checklist towards the end of the unit encourages students to reflect on their progress and is followed by a useful vocabulary section for ease of reference. Revision units, which appear after every two units give the opportunity to revise language through further activities.
