BillSniff was easy to setup. I have a home router and got it working right away. Despite running a wireless and wired network, the software identified my wireless network and the router just prior to me entering into my network settings. All wireless was visible and routing was correct. I have two wired networks. One is on a higher port number than the other. When I configured this older system, I did not go through the port configuration. I didn't test for access to the router. I have not had any issues with access or routing.

BillSniff was a great product. The software was easy to set up and use. It has the ability to run as a daemon process, allowing monitoring to occur even when the Mac is not on.

Version 1.1 is out and 1.0 is out of support. So if the version number doesn't say 1.x then it is 1.1.

BillSniff works well. I've tried similar products but BillSniff is by far the easiest to setup. It's less than a minute and the

BillSniff is a network protocol analyzer that can help with checking for network trouble by inspecting the packet exchange.
It includes support for various protocols, from IPv4, TCP, UDP, LLC, IPX or NetBios to ARP, ICMP and SMB.
The interface is organized into several sections for a better display of the captured data. It provides multiple tabs in the upper part, for viewing the captured packets, statistics, filters and logs.
Filtering options are essential for this sort of application since the volume of packets is quite large and without them reaching to the relevant information is most difficult.
These include the possibility to enable the display of specific protocols and allow turning on rules for different Internet protocols, which can be either ignored or captured. Rules are available for IP addresses, TCP, MAC addresses and ports.
From the context menu of a packet capture users can choose to copy specific details that include the time of the occurrence, the source and destination for MAC, IP and port as well as the names of the protocols.
In the lower part of the screen there is displayed a more detailed information about the captured packet.
The support for scripts allows the user to define a particular set of protocols that BillSniff recognizes in the packet data screen.
The scripts have to follow a specific syntax, which is described in the documentation paper that comes with the application.

How to run:
1.- Install the app from Chrome Web Store
2.- Connect your router port to the computer and run the app
3.- When you want to save the capture open the menu and select Save to capture
4.- When it is finished remove the Ethernet cable
5.- Run bsn
