MinAmp is a simple, 1-button application that allows you to control Winamp. It will work on any PC with Winamp installed (given that the user has a certain version). In order for it to work, some key conditions must be met:
￭ If the user has Winamp (at least version 4.5, although versions 3.9 and 3.10 are okay) installed, then the user must allow MinAmp to register DLLs using security settings, or manually (as to allow the program to write whatever it wants to Winamp).
￭ MinAmp must not take up any space in Winamp's interface.
￭ MinAmp must not block Winamp from running.
￭ If the user has installed Winamp inside a folder with a root name of 'Winamp' or 'winamp', then, most likely, the user will have to change the folder name.
￭ When MinAmp is executed, Winamp must be set to autostart.
￭ MinAmp works with Winamp icons.
￭ If the user has Winamp installed (at least version 4.0), MinAmp will have to "drop a file" on the Winamp icon.
￭ This should only happen once.
￭ Enable the appropriate security settings as appropriate.
￭ MinAmp should allow settings to be saved and restored.
￭ MinAmp should not have any dependencies on any other programs. If it does, MinAmp will not be able to work.
￭ MinAmp does NOT support Plugins.
￭ MinAmp uses Yahoo! Widgets.
￭ MinAmp does NOT use specific keys to control Winamp.
￭ MinAmp does NOT launch Winamp in a folder. It should launch Winamp in it's own folder (and not in another folder).
￭ MinAmp does NOT use keystrokes to control Winamp.
￭ MinAmp does NOT force you to use any "fixed" order. Changing the order is up to the user.
￭ MinAmp does NOT force you to use any specific skin. Changing skins is up to the user.
