- How to install SmartRoot:
Download the archive and extract the archive file. In
the folder with the extracted archive there is a file named "README.txt"
Copy the smartroot.jar file to the ImageJ Plug-In folder (In your
jrw directory, where ImageJ was installed). You can get to the
ImageJ Plug-In folder by clicking on the ImageJ Plug-In menu: Choose
Tools --> Plug-ins --> ImageJ Plug-Ins.
In the image section (left side of the main window) select
"Open" from the File menu.
Navigate to the folder containing the root image(s)
Click on the file "main.mif" and a window with the file name should
appear. Click on "ok".
Navigate to the SmartRoot folder and click on the file
"SC_LAM_8.mif" or "SC_LAM_4.mif" to be traced. In the properties
window enter the two values (x-max, y-max) where x and y are the
width and height of the image, in pixels.
Click on "start" in the top left
To stop the program, click on "stop" in the top left.
Note:
If SmartRoot can not find an image file, you might need to export the image as a JPEG, GIF or BMP file.
