Welcome to the EIS Newsletter - 2024/25 - Issue No. 7!

Number seven is lucky for some, and maybe for us, because we have had a wonderfully successful half term at EIS. I have been reflected with teachers our successes and next steps as we draw a close to the Autumn 1 term. As always, we tend to end on a celebratory note and this half term has been no exception as we finished today with a wonderful House Competition. A great turn out from students in their House t-shirts, and a well done to the teachers as well. It was a visual delight. The students had a great time going through a gamut of games and activities to score off between themselves. Congratulations to the winning Houses!

From an academic perspective, last week so the close of the Primary assessments and all seems to have gone very well on the whole, and I am aware that the teachers have performed extremely well. This has been evidently clear during my Learning Walks, recently. Alas, the outcomes usually resemble the input - great in; great out. Some children in particular did especially well in their assessments and were awarded Headteacher Awards. Congratulations to the following:

A big thank you to Ms. Larisa for presenting a very good trophy and gift to Seohyun Y10 for being the best badminton player during her club for the half term. It was great for Seokhyun to get the limelight, especially as he is so humble, but because I am wanting clubs to get more attention this year. This is a tried and tested method; i.e. sharing and celebrating achievements. This will stick so I expect to see further awards being handed out over the course of the school year. I look forward to it!

Finally, I am glad to report we passed our first fire drill of the year on our first attempt and the adults and students did a sterling job. Safety first! Also, our perimeter fence is being upgraded to give the students more privacy and help prevent loss of play equipment. It is about halfway complete at the moment. It should be ready on our return after the holidays.
