YEAR 2
Guess which country Year 2 have chosen to study for International Day? For a big clue, look at our photos this week...! Yes, Korea! Year 2 have already made some beautiful Korean crafts in Art lessons. We will be learning some Korean traditions and decorating our classroom for International Day on the 19th May. The children can wear costumes from any country. On International Day we will visit all the classrooms and learn about many interesting countries. We are also looking forward to our upcoming trip to the Zoo. This week was a short week but Year 2 still worked very hard learning prefix 're' words and writing their own adventure story inspired by The Snail and the Whale. We had children travelling the world with their friends on wolves, dragons, dolphins and capybaras! They sailed, ran or swam with their animals to Antartica, New York, Vladivostok, The Maldives and Abu Dhabi! Year 2 have wonderful imaginations. In Maths, we learned how to use a weighing scales, practiced how to read pictographs and also revised multiplication and division questions. We created a very hungry Recycling Bin for the Eco Committee inspired by the Cookie Monster. Well done Year 2, enjoy the May holiday and see you on Wednesday!
