The Quagi is the combination of a Quadinza Triple Quad (QTD) feed and an inverted Radiator Polarized Yagi (IRPY). The QTD antenna has a highly directional low loss omnidirectional pattern but the high gain of the Quad will be less effective since its gain is mostly inside the radiating pattern. The waveguide feeder is designed to get better RF power into the IRPY and the Quads directional pattern is perfect for the IRPY to take it out. This allows an even better RF gain. The Quads feed has two slots to capture the signals from the array. The feeder also has an exit slot for the radiated pattern. The exit slot is used for harmonics and the centroidal loop back the generated beam but it also radiates less RF energy than the other feeder slots.

*Abandons the not so intelligent search queries like: how do I position the Quadinza. The Quadinza uses a double slot and a circle to position the array. There are eleven locations where the circle can be placed and the slots will allow for a position at any of the spots. With this array, the center is usually determined by the position. The Quadinza has a gain of about 13 db for the radiated pattern and 16 db for the double slot design. To maximize the gain of the Quads, the array is designed to allow for the highest G.C.M. position first.

In addition, it is very narrow band and is not designed to handle the gain of the Quads array. Also, it is two slot. The base design is a 3x5 array. This will give most of the gain of the Quad. The QUAGI Crack Mac is a general purpose multi-band horizontally polarized
antenna. It can be tuned in BOTH L and C bands. The L band can be
used with an S-band high SWR, but still has pretty fair yagi gain. The C
band has pretty good yagi and SWR, but because of the low SWR in
those bands, gain is lower. However, there are better choices for
C-band if you don't mind a narrow band. The L and C bands may be
used together, but the higher SWR means the L band will usually be
the best choice.
The spire is a half-wave dipole element, in a vertical plane. It is
purposely made to be as wide as possible in the horizontal plane, to
keep the yagi dimensions small. It may be bent at 90 degrees when
mounting, but just bend it if you don't want to have to do that.
The two elements are a quarter-wave apart from one another at all
frequencies, which is why they work, and only about a half-wave from
one another at low frequencies, which means they're more like a
parabolic feed and a yagi feed.
At the highest frequency, both elements are bent 90 degrees, and are
pointed to get maximum gain. The longest element is pointed straight
down, and the shorter one is pointed downward but turned 5 degrees
outward.
