The known grooming brushes are motor driven in a first direction of rotation about a first axis and are spring biased in a second direction of rotation. In operation, the first direction of rotation is reversed to produce a brushing action. In particular, the spring biased rotation of the brush is provided by a handle or other rigid mounting of the brush. A battery-powered motor is placed in a battery housing near the handle and is connected to the handle and brush by means of a wire cord.
While most self-propelled grooming brushes operate as described above, there are disadvantages. For example, the battery housing may become unserviceable if it is located in a dirty or otherwise contaminated environment. Further, the wire cord connecting the battery and brush to the handle and brush may become contaminated or otherwise degrade the performance of the brush. Additionally, the battery housing may become unserviceable if the battery fails.
Another problem with conventional self-propelled grooming brushes is the relatively large size of the battery housing. For example, the battery housing is often more than half the size of the brush itself. Accordingly, the brush requires a larger area on the user's grooming table than would otherwise be necessary to accommodate a brush and battery having the same dimensions.The plan to build a casino and sports arena on Detroit's East Riverfront is back on track, and the developer says construction could begin as soon as this fall.
"You'll be a part of Detroit's resurgence," said Phillip Lunt, who owns Lunt Development, the company building the project. "The time is right. The city is vibrant. The market is strong."
Lunt Development's plans to build a $634 million casino and sports arena to be called The Fillmore Detroit on Detroit's eastern riverfront is back on track after a city-created regulatory oversight panel on Tuesday voted to allow Lunt Development to take its application back to the Detroit City Council.
"We believe we have a reasonable project that can be in line with the city's needs and desires," Lunt said at a news conference in downtown Detroit.
Lunt Development will file an updated public-use impact study, as well as an updated schematic design review plan with the city, he said. The project will be named The Fillmore at the newly renamed East Riverfront.
