The French Dispatch of the Liberty, Kansas Evening Sun, film diretto da David Gordon Green, riprende la storia da dove era rimasta nel capitolo precedente con Michael Myers intrappolato nella casa in fiamme, mentre Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), sua figlia Karen (Judy Greer) e la nipote Allyson (Andi Matichak) scappano via a bordo di un'auto, dopo aver fatto l'autostop. Ma Michael è ancora vivo e lo scopriranno a loro spese i vigli del fuoco accorsi a spegnere l'incendio nell'edificio.
Nel frattempo Laurie viene portata d'urgenza in ospedale, a causa delle ferite da lama riportate, e, non sapendo cosa stia accadendo sul luogo dell'incendio, crede di aver finalmente ucciso il suo incubo di un'intera vita. Il suo sollievo, però, viene spazzato via dalla notizia che i pompieri sono tutti morti, ferocemente uccisi dal maniaco omicida.
Questa volta, però, Laurie è pronta a fermare il male per sempre, preparando tutta la cittadina di Haddonfield a dare la caccia a Michael.
