Performing NDP redirection in ASP.NET MVC
I am developing a website using ASP.NET MVC 4.
I have multiple applications within the website. The main website, user profile, login / logout pages etc are not exposed to public, only a few internal pages.
We have a few requirements that we cannot provide with Forms Authentication and one of them is that we need to be able to login to the website and get redirected to a specific page.
The requirement is that the page the user gets redirected to is also a web application and has to be started with process.aspx request by the server. This may seem like overkill for some but as a new company, we are on a budget and we already have to upgrade our Windows 2008 server to Windows 2012 due to security issues.
I have been looking into placing the redirect as a NDP process within the website and calling the redirect on an app domain.
The website is running on IIS 7.5 and the ASP.NET web application that the redirect will go to is running on IIS 8.5.
I am thinking something like this:
User requests a page within the website. It is redirected to IIS 8.5 app domain.
IIS 7.5 app host redirects the request to IIS 8.5 app domain.
IIS 7.5 process redirects the request to NDP process.
NDP process does a redirect to the url I would like.
Is this possible? Is this how it is supposed to be done?

I have been talking with some developers on my team and I do not think that this is possible. Basically the redirect is a redirect to a specific page that is running in another application. If you try to start another application in IIS it will not allow you to.
I will try the asp.net mvc debugger as I said in my question above and see what I can
