 bobo_: where  is whatever SSID you want to set it to
 bobo_, you may also need to install the "ralink firmware" package
 bobo_, that is what it is named on my system

 I did update the bios
 pksadiq, i don't believe that's the issue, i believe it's a driver issue. the wireless adapter is in fact detected by the OS, but not being used by it
 the lspci output says "Ethernet controller [0200]"
