• Airline Routes.  When I first heard of the Wasp, a bi-plane helicopter specially designed to be operated by one person, I didn't know what to make of it. First impressions were often a key factor, and the Wasp was no different. (It may not have been first, but I'm certainly not going to remember it if it was.) Luckily, other reports soon followed, and the Wasp quickly proved itself an excellent aircraft for the role for which it was designed. Those reports brought me back to the hobby and pushed me into owning my own Wasp, and I have been a subscriber to a couple of 'Wasp magazines' since. The only negative aspects of the Wasp for me are that it is not easy to get the hang of flying, and that it is not a very popular aircraft. The ability to fly the Wasp is simple. Learning to fly the Wasp consists of flying the Wasp itself, of learning how to use your'stick' to point in the right direction, and of learning how to use your'stick' to control the aircraft. The first is relatively easy, the second is simple and the third is easy (though there is a temptation to use the'stick' more to see what happens than to control the aircraft, which is why it is best to ignore it and concentrate on pointing in the right direction!). As for popularity, I think that it has been too long since the Wasp was in production for its design to have had a chance to catch on. Also, the 'Wasp aviation' community seems to be rather small and without a home, so perhaps they are not a good advertisement for the Wasp. It has not stopped me flying though, and I have owned at least three aircraft as a result of the Wasp. When I first bought my Wasp, I was not sure which aircraft to go for. A couple of friends suggested the Super Cub, and it is a very nice plane, but I wanted a little more power. I had considered a Gull, and this is a very attractive aircraft with a lot of options for customization. In the end, I went for the Wasp. I like its size, its
