When a user signs on to a Web Service Provider-enabled Microsoft Office Outlook-Live 2007 application, the user is required to accept the following agreement:
Once your organization installs the Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Web Service Provider application, you must register your Web Service Provider-enabled Microsoft Office Outlook-Live 2007 application to your Active Directory directory service. Outlook-Live will contact the Active Directory domain controller to verify your installation. This helps to ensure that the Web Service Provider application will be properly provisioned, installed, registered and enabled in the appropriate Active Directory service.
Web Service Provider applications can be registered to Active Directory using the Services Console. To access the Services Console, go to Start, select All Programs, select Administrative Tools, and then select Services.
After the installation and registration, a Web Service Provider is added to the Outlook-Live server. The Web Service Provider registers itself to the Outlook-Live server by using the setLocalDirectory method. When you enable a Web Service Provider on a Microsoft Office Outlook-Live 2007 server, the Web Service Provider appears in the list of Communication Servers in Outlook-Live. The application is enabled when you add the setting setCommunicationServerEnabled to true in the OutTake Preferences interface.
Procedure to register a Web Service Provider in Office Communications Server 2007 R2:
The instructions in this section are provided for a general understanding of how a Web Service Provider application can be installed, registered and enabled in the Active Directory directory service. The instructions assume that you have a Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 infrastructure running in a network environment.
Prerequisites:
The following Windows Server role services and software must be installed and registered with Active Directory:
Internet Information Services (IIS)
Network Policy and Access Service (NPAS)
DNS
The Outlook-Live server should have a Domain Controller and other Windows Servers or Workstations on the network communicating with it.
Install the Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Web Service Provider on a Windows Server:
