YEAR 2
This week has been quite tough because of the number of assessments we have completed, but the results have been great on the whole and they are all just about all done. 
We still managed to complete comprehension activities in English, which focused on polar animals. For Topic, we have been looking at the Artic and Antarctic regions, as you may have guessed. This is part of our weather & Climate theme and we needed to look at the cold regions of the planet and what makes them interesting. One thing we found out is that Antartica is the only continent on earth with no ants! 
Maths assessments took up the bulk of our work in numeracy but in some cases, we practiced Year 3 material to give us a slight head start for next year. In PSHE, we looked at sun safety and packed our own holiday bags with items that will protect us in hot weather. For Art, we drew wren birds in the foreground before adding the background and extra details on the middle ground.  
In Science, Mr Scholtz took Year 2 out to their own garden patch where they planted seeds for the summer. We will capture some photos to keep track of the growth. I think they will get plenty of sunshine and water over the coming days!

RUSSIAN (Native). Year 2 students continued to learn about nouns, adjectives and verbs, doing some game tasks. Children also practiсed their writing and reading skills with great enthusiasm. Well done!
RUSSIAN (Non-native). Year 2 studied a new topic "Названия полярных животных" Arctic Animals. Students learned a lot of new useful words and phrases and how we can use them in common or complex sentences.
