Description: split3pm is a command line tool designed to extract audio segments from an audio file. It was originally designed to split the last song off the radio from the MP3 file. However, it turned out that it could be useful for many other tasks.
The current version is now able to split audio files into parts with a time precision of ±5 seconds. It's not able to split encoded files (e.g. with VBR (Variable Bit-Rate) audio) because it's not possible to cut a file with variable bit-rates reliably.

You need Python 1.5.2 or later, depending on your operating system. For Windows, that should be all right with any version above 2.3.4. For Linux, you can get split3pm going with Python 1.2.3 or later.
Installation:
To extract split3pm, you need to download the tarball from the downloads page and untar it in the python-directory of your home directory.
