Bah. There are three more episodes of Got It Covered shot, and hopefully they'll be out soon ... I'm terribly excited for people to see them, even if I'm always afraid I sound like an incoherent nerd on them. Really, I'm usually a fairly together nerd. But yeah, I'd much rather think about that than car insurance, but to be honest, I'm very happy I had car insurance, because even minor fender-benders add up.

Way back at the beginning of the 19th century, the poet William Wordsworth wrote: "The world is too much with us; late and soon,/Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers." Some days, I completely understand where he was coming from.

I should be writing poems and short stories that are in my head, but the real world is taking up too much space. I need to stop being sensible sometime soon. At least for a little bit. Not entirely – I don't think "irresponsible space cadet and starving artist" would be a good look on my – but I have to remind myself sometimes that the life I've built is meant to provide a structure to support me writing, not the other way around. I have a job and car insurance so they can deal with the sensible things, without putting the onus of real life on my writing. Lately, though, I feel I've been doing everything but writing fiction and poetry, and I need to address that. there's always a dull ache in my chest when I've been away from them too long, and I'm starting to feel it.
